Creativity for Good

Creativity for Good

Following a devastating fire in 2014, the Glasgow School of Art quickly decided that rebuilding the famous Mackintosh building was essential in honoring the school’s history and the masterfulness of its creator, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Raising funds for a restoration was no small feat so, the art school, well…. got creative. They developed a campaign called Ash to Art, where 25 world famous artists from around the world were asked to create new art from the worthless fire debris. The campaign received a 100% response rate—each and every artist used the charcoal, a powerful nod to a classic medium, and created a unique piece. Ash to Art helped raise over €706,438 to rebuild the Mackintosh Building. Creativity for good is something special.
